Ludovico Einaudi - Divenire

Divenire, in English “to become”, a piece that both dwells on the past and ponders the future - and one I felt fit to celebrate the upcoming 100M views on Nuvole Bianche!! When that piece was first posted, this whole genre was still in its infancy, it’s incredible to see how far it's come and how many people it's touched. Something which is also quite crazy is that Apple asked me to make this video for you - they’ve actually been supporting and sponsoring classical music and artists in general, which I’ve never seen in this age of digital streaming - and it’s now finally possible to listen to my recordings on Apple Music Classical too: apple.co/Rousseau

I come back here often hoping to see an update. You have left that big of a mark in my life. Rousseau I hope you're well. A class assignment brought me back this time but I will always come back. You are my pianist for life. 🥀🥀 ❤❤

Hey man, I hope you are doing fine. Your videos inspired me to start playing piano, you are probably also a great inspiration to many others out there.

Rousseau has left a massive impact on my journey as a musician. His playing showcases exactly how a piano player should sound like: dynamic, flowing, expressive, and enjoyable. Sometimes, when I want to listen to a song Rousseau hasn’t recorded yet, I have to resort to other channel’s videos to see them, but they never sound the same. To me, Rousseau’s videos are the only ones that don’t sound like they are missing something crucial.

When I became aware of the hard reality that Rousseau was gone, I immediately felt terrible and worried for him. As soon as I saw that he had never posted during my time on his channel (being a relatively new watcher of his videos), I saw that I wasn’t alone. Thousands, maybe even millions of others were feeling the impact of Rousseau’s absence. I saw this as (other than something very sad) proof that Rousseau has truly touched the hearts of many people. He has shown that music isn’t just supposed be a series of notes, it’s a way of conveying emotion and expressing yourself. For many, he has turned classical music from a mostly-ignored part of music into a whole world of expression and emotion.

For now, I’ve waiting and hoping that, maybe, one day, Rousseau will come back with more amazing songs. I would give almost anything for him to come back. Until then, I hope he’s ok. ❤

Rousseau, you always welcomed me into music with comfort, hope you are still playing the piano, and hope you can return to those times soon.
