Hello! This piece is well-known as Bach's Adagio. In fact, it is J. S. Bach's arrangement of the second movement of A. Marcello's Oboe Concerto in D minor. It is a beautiful and sad composition that evokes deep contemplation. I hope you enjoy listening to this performance. Thank you. Have a nice day!

Just saw an old man on Instagram finally being able to play again, thanks to his bionic gloves, and he chose to play this piece. Haven‘t listened to it for a while, this one is for him.

I most enjoy playing this at 1.25x bpm. It removes the tendency to drag on the piano.

Now remember everyone.. Bach did NOT “compose” this! Marcello did. The soul piecing came from Marcello and was then preserved and highlighted by Bach’s genius intertwining treble and base to create depth in his own compositions. Bach TRANSCRIBED from oboe/strings to harpsichord.
